Located in the prime business area of Lisbon, between Avenida da Liberdade and Largo do Rato, Mouzinho da Silveira 21 is a three-storey historic house with heritage, recipient of the Urban Rehabilitation award in Portugal. The scope of the project included the full restoration of its original stuccowork, that ennoble the walls and ceilings. The architectural project and construction always kept in consideration the artistic and architectonic value of the building’s original features.
A new roof was built, the facades and structure rehabilitated, with extension of the last floor into a mezzanine. The building was also endowed with new building infrastructure, wooden window frames, and new kitchen appliances. The existing masonry, worked ceilings, carpentry and part of the original wooden floors were very carefully maintained and restored.
