Fitting in the original design of Areeiro's neighborhood, this building marks the architectural era of "Estilo Português Suave" (Soft Portuguese Style) that prevailed from the 30s to the 60s. The rehabilitation of this residential building sought to preserve the original and characteristic features of the time, updating the interior layout and energy efficiency to contemporary demands. This in turned allowed this building to distinguish itself from the offer in the neighbouring area.
This building was part of the The Sharing Cities ‘lighthouse’ programme, meaning implementing solutions geared towards energy efficiency and sustainability. The architectural project included works to preserve the façade, reconstruction of the roof with the integration of solar photovoltaic panels, replacement of the existing frames, alteration of the apartments with enlargement of the basement and fifth floor, as well as renovation of the building infrastructure networks.
